Idabel, OK (October 11, 2018)—The Museum of the Red River will hold its biennial Fall Arts Festival on October 27, from 10 am to 4 pm. The event includes artist demonstrations, family-friendly craft activities, musical performances, and more. A full list of artists and events is available at the bottom of this press release or on the Fall Arts Festival event page on Facebook. More will be added shortly.

During this time, the Museum will also host a pop-up exhibit by Chris Powell, an Associate Professor of Art from Texas Christian University, and his students. The Museum will also offer free artifact identification by Dr. Robert Brooks and Carolynn Neal, formerly of the Oklahoma Archaeological Survey. Per Museum policy, no monetary valuation can be given for an object. Moreover, only archeological objects will be identified.

Despite the ongoing construction, 2018 has been a successful year for the Museum. Although attendance is still lower than usual, it is already three times higher than last year’s total number of visitors. Museum programming has continued to see a sharp increase in interest as well. So far, over 2,000 people have attended a program at the Museum in 2018. That’s twice the number of attendees from last year and one of the Museum’s best years so far. Overall attendance is expected to increase once construction is complete.
